We require this information to get in touch with you if you are booking a stall or enquiring about a fair and in particular for the following reasons:
- Contacting you in response to your booking
- Contacting you in response to a comment or query
- Contacting winners of competitions
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Who we share your data with
By default we do not share any personal data with anyone. If a visitor contacts us and asks for your details in relation to an interaction you have had with them at a fair, we will only point them to your website or information readily available online.
How long we retain your data
If you are a stallholder and complete a booking form we will keep your details on record as long as you are an active stallholder. We ask stallholders if they would like to attend another fair at the end of each event, and if you do not answer this or tell us you do not want to attend again, we will remove your details from our records.
If you leave a comment on a post, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in our moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
You can request a copy of any data we have or ask that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Security
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. The website has a valid ssl certificate.
Stallholder data is held in the cloud in a secure password protected area. We do not download any data held onto devices or memory sticks.
